Honors student Justin Corbin greets a Kenyan friend

Above: In the summer of 2006, Honors student Justin Corbin (at right), a pre-med biology major, made the journey to Kenya to work in hospitals and a mobile dental clinic. The recent Imagine Magazine article "Bringing Hope" recounted Justin's experiences.

If you’re attending the university to prepare for admission into a professional school, WCU’s Pre-Professional Program provides you with a variety of options for the programs you may pursue:

  • Pre-Dental
  • Pre-Engineering
  • Pre-Law
  • Pre-Medicine
  • Pre-Optometry
  • Pre-Pharmacy
  • Pre-Physical Therapy
  • Pre-Physician's Assistant
  • Pre-Veterinary Medicine

It’s important that you make decisions early in your undergraduate career regarding preparation for professional school. The majority of professional school programs now require a bachelor's degree for admission, although there are still some exceptions.

To make wise decisions regarding undergraduate prerequisite courses and selecting a major, contact the Pre-Professional Advisor Emily Johnson at The Honors College.
